UMAT 2020/2021 Courses, The University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa, UMat invites application form qualified applicants for admission to the under-listed undergraduate and diploma programmes for the 2020/2021 Academic Year:

The University of Mines and Technology announces for the information of the general public that applications are open for the admission of prospective applicants into various undergraduate programmes for the 2020/2021 academic year. All prospective applicants are advised to visit the University’s website www.umat.edu.gh and carefully read all relevant information and guidelines before applying.

As a policy, the University admits applicants from all races and nationalities, irrespective of their religious, cultural, social or ethnic persuasions. There is no minimum age limit for admission to any of the approved programmes of study of the University. All Bachelor degree programmes take a duration of 8 semesters (4 years) to complete.

Faculty of Mineral Resources Technology

  • BSc Geomatic Engineering
  • BSc Geological Engineering
  • BSc Minerals Engineering
  • BSc Mining Engineering
  • BSc Petroleum Engineering (Fee paying Programming)
  • BSc Environmental and Safety Engineering
  • Diploma in General Drilling (Fee paying Programming)

Faculty of Engineering

  • BSc Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • BSc Computer Science and Engineering
  • BSc Mechanical Engineering
  • BSc Mathematics
  • BSc Renewable Energy Engineering

Faculty of Integrated Management Science

  1. Certificate Programme in English
    This is a one-year (2-semester) certificate programme for applicants from non-English speaking countries only. Applicants who complete this programme and also have  International Baccaleureate (IB)  in science would be eligible to apply for the degree and diploma programmes.
  2. Certificate Programme in Small-Scale Mining and Quarry Administration
    The certificate programme in Small Scale Mine and Quarry Administration is a one-year (2-semester) programme whose rationale is to respond to the needs of personnel in the minerals extraction industry especially the small/medium scale sector mines and quarries in Ghana.

  1. BSc Geomatic Engineering
  2. BSc Geological Engineering
  3. BSc Mining Engineering
  4. BSc Minerals Engineering
  5. BSc Petroleum Engineering (Fee-paying Programme)
  6. BSc Environmental and Safety Engineering
  7. Diploma General Drilling (Fee-paying Programme)

Applicants must have at least credits in the following subjects for the various programmes in this Faculty.

NOTE: ONLY Geomatic Engineering applicants can substitute Chemistry for Geography
