Award-winning investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni, is set to establish an investigative journalism club at the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
The move by Manasseh Azure is to train more investigative journalists to further the fight against corruption in the country.
He made the announcement at the GIJ SRC handing over ceremony which came off yesterday at the school’s forecourt.
Ghana placed 81 out of 180 countries in the 2017 Corruption Perception Index.
Over the years, there have been several calls, especially on journalists, to pursue, with neither fear nor favour, a clamp down on the corruption canker.
Manasseh’s decision to start an Investigative Journalism club in the communication specialized school has been lauded by students of the school with some describing it as a step in the right direction.
Manasseh Azure Awuni is a former SRC president of the Ghana Institute of Journalism. He graduated in 2010.
