FORSON ARRESTED BY THE BNI FOR ALLEGEDLY RIGGING LEGON SRC ELECTIONS

The guy by name Stephen Ato Forson was arrested this morning for allegedly manipulating the outcome of the just ended SRC elections of University of Ghana to favour Davis Ohene Fobi who happened to be one of the contestants in the presidential race. The whole controversy started emanating when the provisional results were declared by the electoral commissioner of the SRC on Thursday 9th April.

The other candidate Mikdad Mohammed who was perceived as very popular among the student body prior to the SRC elections lost, and stated categorically that he will not accept the results as they were since it did not reflect the will of the students. Actions were then taken by members from his camp to place an injunction on the declaration of the results and a petition was also presented to the Chief Justice of the University of Ghana in regard of the elections on Monday 13th April.

Meanwhile a group calling itself Concerned Students of Legon is threatening a massive demonstration if Forson is not released within the shortest possible time. According to the group, Mikdad Mohammed one of the candidates in the SRC elections  is only using his relationship with the former SRC president of Legon Edem Agbana who is now the personal assistant to the Deputy Minister of Education Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa to distort the peace of the student body.
