Davis Ohene Fobi Was Finally Sworn In
Davis Ohene Fobi who emerged as the SRC president elect for the 2015/2016 academic year in the recently held SRC election was finally sworn in last night. The swearing in took place during a brief ceremony held in the SRC union building within the late hours of Friday 8th May 2015.
The ceremony was well attended by the dean of students Dr. Adomako and some officials of the university as well as a number of students most of which were believed to be from Fobi’s camp. All the newly elected executives were also present at the ceremony and were equally sworn in by the chief justice, Justice George Anti.
Davis Ohene Fobi was sworn in as the SRC president, Elizabeth Felicia Agyei as the secretary of the SRC and Perry Johnson as the treasurer of the SRC. Members of the outgoing administration were however not in attendance.
It was however not surprising since the outgoing SRC president Joshua Dogbey stated categorically in an interview with radio universe some few days ago that, he will not be handing over to Davis ohene fobi until the final verdict of the on-going court petition was given.
The swearing in followed an order of the court on Monday 4th May for the elected candidate Davis Ohene Fobi to be sworn in after which the case was adjourned indefinitely by the judicial board hearing the case. The petitioners however were not satisfied with the decision of the court and therefore took the case further and it is still pending before the Accra High Court.
