The Electoral Commission of the University of Ghana Student Representative Council (SRC) has today Saturday April 7, 2018 officially lifted the ban on campaign for all candidates.

This follows the vetting of the then aspirants on Friday.

In a communique issued by the Electoral Commission and signed by its Chairman Kweku Quansah, candidates are entreated to go about their campaign activities in a polite and restrained manner without any “malicious utterances”.

The statement further adds “candidates should adhere to the provisions in the constitutional instrument pertaining to this [Election] or face sanctions”.

The 2018 University of Ghana SRC election is slated for Wednesday 18th April, 2018.

In all, 8 candidates are fiercely contesting for a slot in the main mother body of the University.

The number consists of 5 presidential candidates, 2 general secretary candidates and one candidate for the treasurer position.
