UCC sued over suspension of 22 students

The 22 suspended students of university of Cape Coast have sued the management and the university for wrongfully suspending them in a matter in which they have done no wrong.
An affidavit was filed by the said students before High court in Cape Coast pleading their innocence in the matter against which they were suspended and ordered not to undertake their second semester examination.
An interim injunction was further placed on the University, its employees, agents and workmen from carrying out their purported decision to rusticate the said students and prevent them from writing their second semester examination.
The University was further ordered not to interfering in any way whatsoever with the academic works or life of the students.
22 students of University of Cape Coast were suspended last week for their role in a clash between some halls of the University. The clash resulted in the distraction of some properties of the university including the hall bus of ATL hall.
The clash broke out during the hall week celebration of ATL hall. Most of the suspended students are JCR executives of the hall for their refusal to submit names of those involved in the riot.
