NDC Launches 'Ghana Institute of Social Democracy'

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has on Thursday officially launched its institute of higher learning named the Ghana Institute of Social Democracy. The occasion was attended by former Chiefs of Staff, former ministers of state, Members of Parliament and a host of party supporters and sympathizers.
The party its headquarters in Adabraka outlined the vision for the creation of the school as well the courses and programs to be run by the institute.
The party also inaugurated an interim Governing Council chaired by the General Secretary of the Party, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.
They also inaugurated the Academic committee, Administration committee and estate committee.
The institute will be headed by the NDC’s Director of Research Dr. William Ahadzi who will act as Rector with Peter William Boamah Otukonor acting as Registrar.
Also at the event, the interim governing council chairman and the General Secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketiah stated that the school will ”…contribute through its programs, modules and activities to strengthening further the social democratic ideology which underpins the work of the National Democratic Congress.”
Among other courses, the institution will offer courses such as Philosophy, Principle and Practice of Social Democracy, Political Economy of Development, Elections and Electoral systems, Gender Mainstreaming, Youth Development, Public Sector Management, Public Policy Formulation and Implementation, Grassroots Political Mobilization and Development and Environment Sustainability.
